Massage
Massage alone has a stimulating effect on the circulatory and nervous system. Combining this with the use of essential oils can boost the positive effect on your wellbeing.
Dependent on your specific needs I will use a variety of massage techniques:
Swedish Massage
The basis of all modern massage using a variety of techniques to manually manipulate the soft tissue of the body, thereby promoting circulation of blood and lymph, relaxation, relief from pain and tension and the restoration of metabolic balance.
Starting with long, slow gentle strokes, the massage gradually begins to work
into deep layers of the tissue to help break down adhesions present in the
body’s fascia.
Deep Tissue Massage
As it suggests, this technique works deeper into the layers of tissue to relax, lengthen and release holding patterns that have built up from muscular tension. This technique can help improve flexibility and will focus on specific areas of tension to bring lasting relief.
Although working deeper, it can still be relaxing and should not cause pain.
Lymphatic Drainage
An incredibly gentle but profound technique which helps to increase the flow of lymph throughout the body. Lymphatic drainage can be used for a variety of reasons, including: oedema; sluggish immune system or lack of energy.
It can be used in conjunction with other massage techniques, in particular before deep tissue work to clear the tissue of debris before working deeper. It can also be used on specific areas, for example the face to help ease sinusitis or to help improve the condition of the skin.
Holistic Massage, including acupressure
Incorporating the use of acupoints into the massage routine, this technique works on the Chinese Meridians and Qi (life force) that flows throughout the body. By applying gentle pressure to specific points, a profound effect can be had to help with conditions such as migraines and pre menstrual tension or menstrual pain.
